INNOVATION

The Academy curriculum.

Part 1: Bootcamp

Each track will undergo a 20 hour eLearning bootcamp. The self-paced archived content is intended to give each student the necessary background to be successful in the Academy. Learn the ins and outs of running an organization in the entrepreneurial track and explore the scientific method in the research track. The bootcamp should be completed in the first 4-8 weeks of the course, allowing ample time to finish the project prior to final pitches and presentations.

Part 2: Live Talks

Perspective is everything, especially when thinking about how to solve problems through an innovative lens. That’s why the Academy brings in industry and academic experts from around the world weekly to give Masterclass style live talks. Learn how these trailblazers charted a path to success and get the opportunity to ask their input on your project and ideas. All live sessions are recorded and archived if there are scheduling issues with attending.

Part 3: Office Hours

Group learning is essential for working through roadblocks and building successful teams. The office hours are hosted by our expert mentors and run twice a week to provide students from both tracks the opportunity to gain feedback in a peer-to-peer setting, ensuring their learning is not in isolation. Take advantage of the office hours as little or as much as you feel is needed. Our group rooms are engineered to reduce over-talk noise, allowing many students to work in groups simultaneously.

Part 4: 1:1 Sessions

Students will be assigned an expert mentor based on their project. The mentor will serve as their personal learning liaison while they are in the Academy. They will meet every other week and keep on a strict schedule for progressing the project to a culminating pitch or presentation. Outside of meetings the mentor will be accessible to answer questions or provide resources and suggestions. All mentors are assigned based on a personality algorithm to ensure each student-mentor match exceeds all expectations.
