Farming
Producing food, from planting crops to harvesting and final distribution, is a complex spiderweb with endless opportunities for inefficiencies, errors and setbacks that lead to wasted food and lost money.
Genetic screening
Our genomic information – DNA and RNA – serves as the blueprint for all biological function. Advances in sequencing technology and subsequently reduced costs are radically changing how genomics impact our lives.
Plant biology
Plants are the lungs of the Earth. They help convert CO2 to O2 creating a symbiotic equilibrium between plants and animals. Identifying methods to enhance photosynthesis would greatly improve our footprint.
Meat alternatives
There are orders of magnitude more vegans and vegetarians now than there were decades ago. Aiming for a healthier lifestyle, many Americans are now looking for “meat tasting” alternatives.
Bee habitats
Bees are widely considered the most beneficial species on Earth. Without them, humans would likely starve. Bee habitats are shrinking from urbanization and global warming, with many scientists raising concerns.
Animal modeling
Animals, from lab mice to chimpanzees, are vital for pre-clinical drug development work and safety studies. Even long-lived species like the naked mole rate are becoming desired experimental vertebrates. Is this ethical?

Founders, Nick and Chris Minteer have trained at some of the top Universities in the world and started one of the fastest growing companies in the United States, generating over $10M with no investors, all while they were still in school. They took an idea that started in their parents garage to a global powerhouse. The Minteer Academy is based on the principals the Minteer brothers learned working together and with their team. Nick, the business mind, trained at University College London, and Chris, the product mind, a PhD Scientist, trained at University of Cambridge and Yale University. The Academy takes the same perspectives which made Nick and Chris so effective as co-founders and applies it in a real-world course, where ambitious teens have the opportunity to take on big problems through either an entrepreneurial or research lens.
